How to Build Wood Signs

Sign making is an age old art which takes time, patience and vision. We’re dedicated to continuously improving our craft and enforcing strict quality assurance processes in all of our products. All of our signs are made using unique, high quality building materials and manufactured right here in Banff, Canada. We love incorporating natural design elements and raw materials within our signs.

We’re currently working on a 3-Day Artisan Sign Making Workshop in Banff which covers the following instructional topics:

  • Laminating Western Red Cedar to Form a Sign Blank
  • Properly Applying Premium Clear Coat
  • CNC Routering V-Carve Graphics
  • Applying 1-Shot Paint by Hand
  • Adding Coves and Contour Edges
  • Applying Rouge (Preparing for Gold Leaf)
  • Applying Size Before Gilding
  • Gilding using 23K Gold Leaf
  • Finishing Touches and Longevity Standards

If you would like to learn more about making Custom Wood Signs in our Artisan Sign Making Workshop please contact us to express your interest. We will keep you informed about upcoming events and workshop dates.
